Chevy Equinox Or Gp

My girlfriend is looking at getting a Chevy Equinox or something in the GM lineup that is remotely similar (Vue, Torrent, Acadia). There are 2 that are here in town that are for sale and was wondering what MyMonte thought about them. She is looking at spending under $14,000. She loves these, but if we can't find one she wants, she will be looking at getting a 04+ GP.

http://www.eriks.gmpsdealer.com/VehicleDetails/604906423
http://www.eriks.gmpsdealer.com/VehicleDetails/631107203

I'm pretty sure we can get the blue one down to $14-$15K but she really likes the silver one.

Also, does anyone know of a good forum for the Equinox? Or does anyone know of any problems they have? We have looked at both at the dealership, and both have moisture in the passenger headlight, but that looks like it is it on the outside.

Edit: This is the GP GXP she is looking at

98 Monte Carlo Z-34

I am new to this forum, hoping to get the correct answer about intake manifold replacement for my monte. 2 parts stores & 2 junk yards ALL gave different answers! I need to replace my

PLASTIC manifold...call to order parts & I was told...Is it upper or lower? That year only has lower. That year has upper & lower. Those parts cant be bought aftermarket. Those parts can

only be bought from manufacturer. My favorite...WELL THE COMPUTER DOESNT SAY UPPER OR LOWER SO IT HAS TO BE UPPER!

We are trying to fix it ourselves and can't even get the answers we need. HELP!!!!!

I was thinking the other day, can we tap the oil pressure sensor with an electric oil pressure gauge? That would be a lot easier I think than installing a regular oil gauge and running an oil line inside the car.

Lumina Ltz Is Back!

I found a cheap, nice low mileage, in 8/10 shape 97 Lumina LTZ on Kijiji the other day. I took it out for a test drive lastnight, and WOW, it definitely made me miss my old Lumina LTZ... So I'm picking it up tommorow morning . It is pretty clean for its age, and it has a bit of surface rust around the gas tank door, but these days, which car doesnt.... It needs a few things for safety check, but I cant beat the price I got it for! Heres a couple pictures of it.

Front End Rip Out?

Hey guys, after looking forever I finally found a transmission in a junkyard that I can rebuild for my car. Last one I found they said would cost $800 just to get it, F*** that, I went to a new Junkyard around me $85 for transmission. I found a 95 Monte z34 with 150xxx on it. so this is my chance. I'm going tomorrow to attempt to take out the transmission with a friend. Just wondering some quick ways to get it out. I care not for the car cause its junk so I have no problem tearing it apart to get to the transmission. What are some of the easiest ways to get it out, I don't have a huge arsenal of tools so ill have to drop it from under the car (no cherrypicker) im i just looking for 2 engine mounts and subframe bolts? and thats it or is there more to get it out.

3Rd Brake Light Wiring Issue?

ok, so, the other day, i went to the junkyard and picked up a 3rd brake light off of a 2001 lumi. I got it so i can convert the 3rd brake light to led to match my tails, so my question is, when i cut the bulbs off (so i can make sure about the wiring), this is where i hit my issue. from the drivers side light, there are 3 wires... two yellow and one black, and the pass has one yellow and one black. These wires all come from the drivers side brake light, because that's the yellow wire side. My question is, does anyone know why the drivers side has a 3rd wire? i thought it was a taillight, but then realized it doesn't light up with them, so does anyone know what it is?

Ebay Bidding

Are there and tricks to winning an auction? I found a set of wheels that I really want, and I really want to win it. I've bid on things in the past and have tried to stay the high bidder as long as possible, but at the very last second I still manage to get outbid. Is there anyway to avoid this? Or to beat this? I've heard of sniping but there's so many ones I don't know which one to use, what do you guys recommend?

Coolant Leak 3100

M y son just bought a 99 monte with the 3100. It has a leak. I did a pressure test and there was a stream of coolant coming from under the alternator real close to the belt. Could this be the timing cover ?The stream was shooting straight to the firewall. I have looked around this site and seen alot on uim and lim but not on the timing cover. It has 168000 on it. Starts right up and runs great, just don't want to overheat it. Thanks for any help / suggestions.
