The rims are 17inch, any bigger and I wouldn't have got the great deal that was given to me. The rims already have brand new rubber on them, Toyos specifically, they are awesome. The wheel covers will only go on in the winter now, and you may have seen from my other photos that they aren't exactly chrome over the winter lol, I don't wash 'em much

If your referring to the hub caps, I was actually thinking about getting new ones, and painting them black isn't a bad idea either.

If you're gonna paint the caps black, why not just roll on the steel wheels (I think painted caps might end up looking like steelies) Do something cool with the steelies... make them look like MCC's wheels. Or also I know of this spray paint by Rust-Oleum that is called "hammered"... You can apply it directly over rust and you don't need to primer. I bought a can in silver that I think would be perfect for steelies (I'm using it for a project completely unrelated to cars, but it shows a steel wheel as an example right on the can) They had lots of colors too.

That also isn't a bad idea, I actually like what MCC did with her steelies, I know where I can get the chrome rings too. Anyway I'm not so worried about that right now, so I'll figure it out in a few months.

I love them too, they were well worth the extra money, completely changed the way the car drives and handles.

Well, today and yesterday were very busy. I have a few projects for the Lumina on the go, and since I have had two days off I got to work on one of the bigger things. Aside from being able to work on my car, the best part about today was tooling around in this:

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Since I had the Beast, I figured I would try out my camera's video function and get an exhaust clip:

Continued:

That aside, I spent a good couple hours of the past few days on this:

Posted Image

Its the bumper of the '95 Z34 parts car I have. The car was in a minor collision, and the bumper needed some repair work, so I got my first taste of fiberglass work!

Posted Image

Broken support was fixed and strengthened with resin.

Posted Image

Support connector was cracked, now fixed.

Posted Image

Lower support connector was also cracked and fixed.

Posted Image

Cracks in the bumper from the collision, resin was brushed over them.

Posted Image

Cracks we reinforced from behind with both resin and fiberglass mat.

Posted Image

The collision ripped apart the bolt holes that hold the bumper to the passenger fender. Whoever fixed it figured drilling screws through it would be a good fix. It has now been properly fixed.

Posted Image

Fiberglass mat supporting the back.

ugg...too many bloody images my arse....

Continued:

So with it all fixed, it was time for sanding....and more sanding...and after a few hours of sanding (yes hours) it currently looks like this:

Posted Image

Primed

Posted Image

Cracks in the bumper. It need a little bit more sanding before I put on the last coat of primer and paint it, but it should be done withing the next few days!

And finally, my souvenir!

Cool, how necessary are the connectors do you think, lol... The reason I ask is that one of mine is broken, don't know how it happened... but the other one is intact... the thing is, the air damn looks more normal on the broken side. I think it is probably because it is putting more stress on the non-broken side. You can't tell unless you're really looking closely though. Anyway, looks good, looks like it was a fun project!

Well the connectors from what I can tell are what the plastic support bolts up to. That plastic support has an insert for the bottom portion of the bumper, I'm guessing to give support and to keep it from flexing too much. I figured since I was doing it I may as well fix everything for it.

Well, so far everything has turned out well with the bumper. I had my one screw up, the plastic support insert that I tried to repair snapped again when I was checking to make sure it line up, so I decided it needed some fiberglass matting. After a couple days of work, its just about ready to go on.

Pics:

Fully painted and almost ready to go!

Posted Image

Repaired portion of the bumper, turned out really well. It needs a bit more work, but I'm not worried about that right now.

While I was outside today I decided to take some quick video clips. The clips are of the engine and the exhaust with only the filter changed to a cone filter. If anyone wants to know what it sounds like, you can like them to these.

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v626/Kri...nt=823d6cd3.flv

The engine is stock aside from the cone filter.

As a side note, can a mod please change the title so it just says Sidewinder's White Lumina. It doesn't seem to want to let me, thanks.

Yeah I can't stand that, and I would rather take the time to paint it than to have a bright red piece of arse on the front of my car. The Z34 style looks better than the Lumi bumper, but not when it doesn't match the car.

Hopefully next week this, among other things, will be installed.

Well I got the bumper on, as well as painted a few surfaces. For those of you with Luminas and want the Z34/LTZ front, so you know, make sure you get the foam backing from the Z34/LTZ bumper...the stock Lumina insert is different and the Z34/LTZ front won't fit over it. Took me a good while of work, but the bumper looks fantastic, and it even fits around the headlights better than the old one, enjoy!

Nice job with your Lumina, it looks great. I used to roll with whitewalls, so you wont hear any complaints from me. :P

What percentage tint do you have? It's the best I've seen on a white Lumina.
