I'll be lowering my car this morning and I knew I saw a walk through on here a few years back. A few searches and I found EZ112's walk through for the front install.

ORIGINAL LINK IS DEAD SEE ATTACHMENT FOR OLD COPY OF PAGE

Instead of removing the Axel from the car I'm going to loosen it from the hub side and support it with a jack stand. Other then that the walk through is very thorough.

I'd love it if I had the knowledge and patience to do something like this but if I ever do get the Eibach kit(which i prolly will), I'll probably take it to a shop and have them do it for me:)

i know EZ says to pull the axle, but i found it was easyer not to.

what i did was:

just unbolt the axle nut and pull the ball joint as he mentioned and the sway bar. you can push the axle thru and not have to play with the hub or removing the entire axle!

also it is much easyer to replace the front strut cartrages while the struts are on the car!.... so do the struts first then pull it all apart to do the springs.

Thinking about installing the Eibach springs on my Monte also. For anyone who has installed them, how was the ride quality affected?

i have a Z34 and my struts were shot... now with the eibachs and kybs the car is much better. not too stiff either. was expecting a much harsher ride from what i have heard from others.

and i have the STB's, rear trailing arms, and poly bushings too so my could would have been even harsher then if i just had springs only.

if you want that responsive feeling they are a must.

I would think you could do it with out loosening the control arm bolts.

You don't -need- to loosen the control arm bolts.. I didn't use that method when I installed my springs. However I think it might give you a bit more clearence which helps sometimes.

I just took mine all apart tonight to do the wheel bearing and ball joints. I also got strut mounts should I do those when everything is back on the car?? I get a rattle when i go over bumps at slower speeds would there be anything up top besides the rubber bushing to replace??

had the same setup on my ltz. liked the ride.. a little stiffer.. but as soon as the cold weather realler kicked in.. the KYB's freeze they might have fixxed this issue by now i dont know.
