An idea I have kicking around for a while is to get a glasspak, but i was wondering if they are street legal in Texas if anyone lives here or knows.  I was trying to find out because i had a camaro with an illegal exhaust and every time i had to get an inspection i would have to change it back to stock and i really hated doing that every july and dont want to do it with my monte.

another was the twister race muffler i as wondering which would sound more deeper and aggressive?

my final exhaust question was is my stock exhaust pipe 2" in diameter?

I don't know what you're allowed to do in Texas, but I know in NY State, as long as you're below the local decibal level ordinance and you have a catalytic converter + muffler that passes emissions, you're fine. What I'm going to end up doing is going downpipe-cat-very short 2.25 inch pipe to flange to very short 2.25 inch pipe to a single-in-dual-out muffler that goes out to dual 2.25's, then finally out the back with a pair of long, but straight tailpipes, OR... out under the passenger side running the pipes side-by-side. Or I could just Y the pipe at the cat and go back to the rear and put on a set of dual Flowmasters. I'll do one eventually, but I'm not sure which yet. Any could be fun. I'll let'cha know which one I finally pick, and how well it works out.

awesome i really want to know what sounds nice because i put very cheep high flow muffler on my car once and it sounded like an ape trying to get out of a cage, the stock muffler was back on 2 hours later.

Someone actually told you your exhaust was illegal in Texas? WTF, man.. That inspector must have been an asshole.. There're plenty of cars running around on nothing more than open pipes.

Who told you your exhaust was illegal?

And another thing.. what part of Texas are you in?

i took two old mufflers and and hollowed them out(pretty loud) you could see were it was welded and i tried to smooth it out.
