I've been looking for CAI solutions and besides making my own, here's the two best options that I can find. Anyone have any experience or preference with either of these? The K&N product only shows as available for the 07 SS on their site, but 06 owners have said they've put it on theirs without any problems. I'm leaning towards the intense-racing product since it's cheaper and more of a true CAI.

The K&N works fine on both the Impala & Monte, 2006+. The Intense FWI does not work without modifying your inner fender to allow the 3" tubing to pass through.

I have the K&N and love it, although it does wreak havoc on the Fuel Trims (extremely lean with it in there). I've since adjusted it with the Diablo, but if you don't have that option, i wouldn't worry too much about it.

Theres no need to spend 200+ dollers on a "cold air box"

why not just buy the intense / ZZP Intake Tubing which is $10 dollers a foot and make your own fenderwell intake which will probobly perform better at a fifth the price

I know this is kind of old, but anywho - nobody makes intakes for 5th gen Montes. That FWI is for the new Monte, not yours... Get some tubing from Intense and make your own.

And Mels. SS, why spend the extra money? You want it to look good? Personally, I'd go for the cheaper, more efficient solution... But then again, that's just me.
