I'm pretty sure this is a dumb question.... but uh, are there any good upgrades for a 96 Monte LS besides intake and exhaust? I have both and I still want it to be quicker...the catch -- I'm on a strict budget...like 200 bucks.

If you only have $200 bucks I would suggest not spending in on mods

But anyway, you could score yourself an underdrive crank pulley for just north of $100. Its one of the better HP per $$ easy mods that are out there.

Also, try the 'search' feature and see that other people have done to thier 3100's.

But with a modest budget, I'd go with the underdrive pulley.

Mods for $200 or less:

UD Pulley
DHP PCM
Make your own intake
mild porting and matching of the tb and the plenum to the lower intake (this can be cheap with good ol dremel and a DIY attitude)
Alternator Pulley
GM STB (this can be had for as low as $15 though not really a go fast mod more for better handling)
NGK plugs and MSD 8.5 wires

that all I can think of off the top of my head right now

Yea, those too. . .

But he already has the intake. . .and Isn't the DHP quite a bit north of $200 with the core charge and shipping?

Plugs, wires, new gator back belt, and an underdrive pulley, should be right around $200(mabey a lil more).  That is what i did after completing my intake and exhaust. Very nice difference, i like to do more than one upgrade at once, but that is just me.

i'm charging 250 for ported upper and lower intakes with gaskets right now, that's close to 200.  normal price is 50 more.

For just under $10 you can buy a can of starter fluid and a hose! For another $5 you can get the holster for the can! Then another $10 in odds and ends parts you can have the redneck version of Nitrous

Yeah I had a 87 lebaron (first car) and I did that. Not that much later I blew through a piston and that was the end of that car!!
