http://videos.streetfire.net/video/75088e4...961012ed757.htm

It's like waking up from a 9 month dream! I finally got the last touches on the engine this Tuesday, and took a video of a startup, with some engine bay shots, and a rear shot of the exhaust note.

This cam is awesome. I haven't gone WOT yet, but I don't think I need to with the power this thing is putting out. 50% throttle feels like a dream.

3.0" pulley on it now. I'll keep it at that until I get into some serious tuning, but it won't need much more tuning than it has now.

All I need now is a wideband so I can really see what's going on A/F-wise.

I'll share some more stories about the final stages of the rebuild, and a few snags I hit. Maybe others can learn about them to avoid my little mistakes along the way. :-)

Hope you like the video. Let me know what you think!

Funniest part is, it wasn't a fart. My back was rubbing against the leather while sitting down, but it totally sounds like I ripped one loose.

As far as numbers go, on the 3.0" pulley, I'm estimating 13+lbs of boost.

I have a 2.9" and a 2.8" in stock, and I think 2.8" is as far as I want to go. That's going to be reserved for track only, and 110 octane fuel. On the 2.8 at the track, it will probably punch about 16+lbs of boost down the engine's throat.

On the 3.0", I haven't even WOT'ed yet, but probably hit 75% throttle a few times. It definately pulls harder than before. I'd say 360-365whp on the 3.0", and maybe 375 or so on the 2.9" with an optimal tune.

It's tough to say whether I'll nail an 11 second pass, but it's definately within reach with this setup. In the summer weather, it's not going to happen, but I plan on hitting the track before the end of July, so I'll have a good idea what to expect come fall. ;)

Stay tuned for more vidz, and dyno numbers by end of July. B)

The M112 Hybrid uses an existing M90 casing. Now that I look back, I should have sprung for a GenV M90 casing over the GenIII M90 casing... the GenV is a little more efficient, but a ported GenIII is comparable.

Where did you get that kind of set up? What did you just use the m112 rotors, m62 snout and a adapter to the housing?

Looks sick I'm really looking into a simular hybrid

The 112 snout is used as well. I actually have a Ford (problem circled) and SVT insignias on the side of the snout. LOL The shorter snout allows the inlet to pulley distance to be the same as a regular M90, so the belt isn't misaligned. The adapter plates in between create the additional room required for the longer M112 rotors. There are a few other pieces required as well, like relocation of the alternator, and raising up the coil packs.

Speaking of coil packs...

LESSON #1... Remember the order of the coilpacks when you are tearing down. 1-4 is at the bottom, not the top. This makes it much easier to start the car the first time around. LOL I was conviced 1-4 was at the top, and I kept trying to turn that poor bastard over... fuel just kept pouring out, and I was getting some weird noises... It wouldn't start.

If you're talking about hogging the entire circle to the gasket, then yeah, it's bad. There's something that happens called reversion, where exhaust gases try and zip back into the exhaust port once the exhaust velocity slows down (when the piston reaches near TDC on the exhaust stroke). The smaller exhaust port keeps the velocity up, and minimizes reversion. Also, because there's a step between the head and the header, if there is any reversion in the collector, it slams into a wall at the head, because there's that "reversion dam" there to slow it down.

Some open it up with a D, some open it up just a touch. I've got 230 exhaust duration, so I'm more biased towards exhaust velocity, so I keep a smaller exhaust port. It's also important to have exhaust flow run about 80% of what the intake flows (this is called exhaust bias). I didn't get the flow benched, but I looked at alot of pictures of heads, and sort of figured out what needed to be taken off where, and how much. :-)
