i was digging around the garage today and found a drop in air filter for a camaro.  i was thinking if i have every thing to do a fender well intake except the cone filter. i was thinking get an air box from a camaro out of a junk yard and cut the front off and leave the sides so i can clamp the filter in place. will this not give me as much hp as a cone? with the hole filter exposed to air i think it would work great and i would not have to spend $45 bucks on a cone. also i called the junk yard they said $10 so that seems pretty good. plus when my brother in law get a cone for his s-10 i will jack his box and k&n and put a y in the intake and have two filters!

I'm not real picky, just I'm running 3 inch pipe, but I'm trying to get the biggest i can. tell me what you got, and i tell you if any sound interesting. and how much $$ we talking.

go to paypal.com ... you enter in all your info, and hook it to a credit or debit card, it will ask you for your bank account info for verification, but you can pay people without doing that.  it's pretty straight-forward
