I was just wondering how many members are from the area I am from. I see a decent amount of nice montes around and was just wondering if it was anyone on here. I met up with Lever this past weekend and we raced around town and had a little fun for a little bit...woundering if anyone races around these parts or has car meets?

Aww man. I saw the central IL and I was like cool beans. But I'm more like NORTH Central.

There hasn't been meets up here in ages. I'd be more interested in a track day. That would be cool

It is at gateway international raceway...go to their site and they explains what it is and shows what it is all about. I think it starts at 6 or 7 pm and goes to 2 or 3 am. There is drifting, stunt bikes, and a lot of fast cars.

there sure are a lot of illinois and new york members. I'm in southern illinois...2-3 hours from St. Louis

If there is a decent turn out of "for sure" montes going, I would consider going to race.

I wish, I don't know when they open for sure. I heard possibly May or even around March, so who knows. I am not patient enough to search their site.

Hell yea I'm right across the river from STL in Alton, IL. Hell I even used to live near Gateway. I remember them having some kinda friday special for amateurs that wanted to run stock or modded. Hell I just bought my Monte back in August and have'nt done anything but, I'm looking at some small tweaks for this spring so hell yea we should all meet up at Gateway during spring or summer. Pretty cool to join some random site and realize that many are from the same general area. I just happend to click on SleeperLS's profile and noticed this Post. Wanted to say what's up to all of you and introduce myself because, the more I'm on this site the more I meet good peeps and great info on Monte's, which I don't know a clue about. I'm on my 4th car and my first was a 66 Impala, so I know a lil about V8s but, now with all the damn computers in these cars, kinda makes me worry to work on them/

Yes. There is Byron Dragway, in Illinois. If you're up North in Chicago, you're best off goig to Great Lakes Dragaway. There is also of course Rt. 66 to go to. So up here we have a lot places.

If we are going to get something square off, we should definately speak up for those who want to go. I have decided that this is going to be my last year with my Monte. I'm going to part it out and get rid of it. Can't have three projects

(other is an 85 442 Cutlass going LS1)

Im about 10-60min west of chicago.......depends on traffic on 290.
