Subject: Creak Noise from Door Glass When Driving Over Bumpy Roads (Lubricate Window Regulator)
Models: 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
Condition:
Some customers may comment that a creak-type noise comes from the side door glass while driving over bumpy roads. This noise is usually heard when the door glass is partially open to almost full down.
Cause:
This condition may be due to a lack of lubrication on the back side of the window regulator.
Correction:
Use the following procedure to correct this condition:
Removal Procedure
Remove the upper trim panel screw.
Remove the upper door handle bezel screw and the bezel.
Remove the door handle screws.
Disengage all the push-in fasteners. Remove the door trim panel.
Remove the water deflector.
Remove the energy absorber.
Installation Procedure

Lubricate the back side of the window regulator with silicone paste or grease in the area shown in the illustration.
Install the energy absorber.
Install the water deflector.
Install the door trim panel.
Install the door handle screws.
Install the door handle bezel using the screws.
Install the upper trim panel screw.
