I have left a message for the special events coordinator at Nick's Pizza about having this event at the Elgin/Randall Rd location. I hope to speak with that person this week...and go from there to finalize plans....
ALSO:
I missed the Elgin Car Show, Saturday, September 6, 2008, because of the ValveReplacement/Adult Congenital Heart Association Chicagoland Mini Reunion that day in Geneva IL. I will keep tabs on the website...
http://www.elgincarshow.org
...to see when next year's event will be held. Once I see that info, I will post it ... and see if we could maybe make that another gathering point next year...depending on the timeframe of the 2009 CRUISE ROUTE 66 event.

Natasha did ask if we have a "set" time for eating, so they can plan for us accordingly. I know we usually start gathering around noon ... does a 1:30p lunch time sound good?
ALSO...anyone interested in a "Fall Color" drive during this gathering? We could travel along RT 20 out towards Freeport/Lena/Galena....

Unless anyone objects, I will advise Natasha to tentatively schedule the lunch portion of this gathering for 1:30p.
So...will YOU join us?

Who plans to come THIS Saturday, October 18???
This event may not be as "huge" as the one we had this past July 26 (or the one schedule for July 25, 2009), but it still will be a great time, so please JOIN US!!!
My ___CELL PHONE #___ is in my signature below.
*** WEATHER FORECAST ***
This past weekend (in the 80s and sunny) would've been PERFECT for the gathering; instead, it is this coming Saturday....
The CURRENT forecast (most likely will change between now and Saturday) is for partly sunny skies and temps in the upper 50s. I hope a little "cool weather" won't scare anyone away!

i cant believe i missed this one too...I got stuck working in Montgomery, IL til 5pm.
seeing as Nicks Pizza Pub is only 10 mins from my house in Bartlett, its not far out of my way to see whats up.
So, I drove an hour from Montgomery to nicks pizza without stopping home to shower or give the car a wash, to see if anyone was still up there.... but the only Monte I saw was a real clean black 5th gen..dont know if that was one of our members or not.
drove by beef villa to see if you guys went up there but the only cars up there were 2 kane county sheriff's

Dangit...you shoulda called me. I coulda given you the scoop! Most people left around 3p...so, nobody was there past then. As for the one you saw there, I don't know if that was part of our group or not....sorry.

No cars for a cruise night there? I wonder if they've had any cruises this year given the road construction going on there....
THANK YOU to ALL who joined us at Nick's Saturday afternoon! Some might say not enough people came, but we had a WONDERFUL time ... complete with plenty of sunshine and not-too-cool temps!
Checking out Nick's, it is my opinion that Nick's should be the place of choice for the 2nd ANNUAL MidSummer CHITOWN GATHERING, July 25, 2009. 65 people were at the 1st ANNUAL MidSummer CHITOWN GATHERING (July 26, 2008)...and Nick's can certainly support that many people AND MORE.... Nick's has plenty of parking as well. Next week, I will contact the special events department at Nick's to get plans rolling. More to come!
As for Saturday, October 18, 2008, along with myself, 11 people gathered:
Adam (inssanity, MCF), 06 SS
Ryan (Adam's friend)
Carl (carlss, NMOCA and MCSS), 84 MC SS
Scott L (2nd gen MC Yahoo group), 74 MC 454
John (friend of Scott L)
Andreas (President of the First Gen MC Club), 71 MC
Leo (Andreas' son)
Barry (Andreas' friend from TN)
Roger and wife (r.sorg, FGMCC), 72 MC Custom (better looking twin of my '72 MC)
