You want to use 0 or 1 Gauge.

I have 4 gauge but I have abs light that I swear is cuz of electrical but really you do want to go big. The key is to make sure that you fuse it, dont want any fires.

Thats funny you say that about the ABS light. My battery died on me yesterday, but right before it did, the ABS light came on. After I got a jump and drove home, the light went away. Im thinking the ABS shuts itself down when there isnt enough power going to it.

Where are you relocating the battery too in your car? I plan on doing the same to make room for a better intake system.

About time somebody admitted to this.

Make sure when you do move it you mount it securely. Running wire for it should be the same as running wire for an amp, if you know how to do that you should be fine. I can give you pics of where mine is if you need help.

I'm sure you know this, but be sure to fuse the main power wire as close to the battery as you can. Electrical fires wouldn't be any fun lol

Also, if you're not running a big stereo, you'd prolly be just fine with 4 gauge if you wanted to save the money instead buying 1/0 gauge. Keep in mind, stock is like 8 or 10 gauge, but it's a much shorter length of wire than one running to the trunk, which is why you need to go a little bigger.

I put mine in the spare tire well.

Before that, when I was running dual batteries- I had my 2nd battery back in the right rear corner- it tucked almost completely out of the trunk space.

Not quite what I meant, I was talking about my mystery ABS light. Its tru about the PITA intake routing. I figure straight PCV is best flow so that what I want to use, now you tell me how to make that fit with a fullsized battery lol. I'll probably get pics up sometime tomorrow afternoon, sorry about the delay Mr. Clean. ;)

I did 4 gauge for my stereo and then didn't change when I relocated the battery and I know quite a few others who did as well. It's not enough and you will have problems. 2 gauge should be your absolute minimum. 1/0 gauge is greatly preferred. The big 3 would be a good upgrade to go with it. Many of us have had trouble starting the car after battery relocations due to crappy wiring...

Sry. From the secondary battery post through the firewall. Under door sill, and trim into back seat to trunk. Battery is in a battery hold down from an Autoparts store. Its a optima so I'm not worried about gases coming into the passenger compartment.

I see where you ran the wire through that grommet, where does that grommet come out on the other side?

I'm assuming that is the one everyone talks about when running power wires for amps but I have no idea where it comes out in the c*ckpit side of the firewall.

Oops nvm I just figured it out. lol I took a metal hangar and bent it out then I poked the grommet and it just popped through. It was awesome. Then I kept pushing a little then went to the drivers seat under the steering wheel and looked and I could see it there. So I just left it there for now and I will use it to pull the power wire through when I get it later this week.

Thanks for the pics and info!

So for reference if others search and find this thread later, this is where it comes through the inside (you can see the black 2/0 wire that says "120 ft" and the blue wire both pass through that grommet):

I do kinda disagree with this too- I could've swore the factory wire that connected the secondary post to the + on the battery was smaller than 4 gauge (8 gauge maybe?). Its not a bad place to connect it, but I'd move the other wires that originally ran to the battery + up to that secondary post with a ring terminal as well.
