I thought it might be time to give my battery and alternator an upgrade, mainly due to my sound system. Alternator is stock, don't know the amp power for it. Battery is a 860 cranking amp with 720 cold cranking amps. I know that's not enough cause twice my battery took a crap due to my sound system and I noticed it has a hard time turning over at times. I'm running a 750 watt amp with 2 10" Alpine subs.

So, I'm in need of suggests for a new battery as well as a alternator to go with it.

It won't hurt to upgrade, but honestly with the amount of power you're running, you don't need to. My system is 1600 watts rms and I'm on the stock alternator and an Optima Red Top battery. I only upgraded the battery because my old one went bad; I picked the Red Top because it's smaller in physical size and they look kinda cool lol. It is pretty powerfull though in terms of cranking amps and they're supposed to have a long lifetime.

If you play your system with the car off a lot, a Yellow Top would be a good choice battery-wise as it's made to be discharged almost completely without being damaged. If you don't ever run the system without the car running, any battery will do fine. The battery doesn't supply the power to anything when the car is running so a bigger one won't really help you at all unless you need the reserve capacity when the car isn't running.

Iraggi has an ebay store and make decent quality high output alternators. If you start shopping for an alternator, look at the amperage output at idle to make your choice, not the peak output. Your alternator is I think 105 amp stock, and I believe these put out around 20 amps at idle.

I would run a kinetik1200 or bigger as a second battery and do a iggy alt if I needed to power a amp over 3k rms. Your 750 watt shouldnt be a problem but if it is add a second battery and leave the stock alt on.

Adding a second battery won't help him do anything except put more stress on his alternator.
