lumina is finally gone.... After months upon months of test driving, and debating, I chose the G35. Initially my first choice was a GTO, and even still is, but I cant justify 12/18 mpg on a DD. So once I eliminated that it was G35 coupe, 06-07 Monte SS, and G6 GTP coupe, just for the hell of it.

Came within inches of buying an 06 SS, and put a deposit on it. I love the way it drove more than the G35 even, but in the end, it was about looks. photos dont do justice to the 06-07 SS IMO, in person it is 100x nicer. It is a unique car, with a great stance but for me personally i feel like the styling of the G35 is less dated, and just more of my personal taste. Anyway, it has only 38,000 miles, paid for it cashmoney so i dont owe a thing on it....

Anyway, the new owner of the Lumina lives in Greensboro, NC... He flew into NY this morning, and i picked up my new car right after that....

The seller was going to give me a set of OEM 18s w/ tires, and OEM 19s with tires, but....... the OEM 19s were scuffed up pretty bad, and not too much left on the tires... So instead of those he took off $300 gave me the 18s, and these ADR 19s with only 200 miles on the toyos... Im not a huge fan of the rims on the car now, I really feel like the new ones will set it off

Heres how she sits now

as far as mods, I dont want to do much.... Its already tinted and has OEM xenon. I might bump it up to 6000K or 8000K and do the fogs to match. (on these cars, the fog lights are the bottom portion of the headlight)

other than that, clear sidemarkers, superwhite LEDs in the reverse lights, license plate, etc

check the nut on the rack and see if it's wet down there. That's where they like to leak.

Very nice. I love the wheels on m45's and those I think would look awesome. Just curious, but how much did this set you back?

Not bad but yeah tax sucks when buying a car. Luckily mine was only 7%. Not a huge difference, but a noticeable one.

I always liked the G35. Nice car. A little surprised you went with the automatic, though.

WAY TO GO!!! Thing looks slicker then owl sh*t in december. Gotta love the G35s...

the only mod i would do under the hood would be a K&N filter if it doesn't have one already.

Once again a hefty CONGRATS to you!

and heres round one.... you could look back to the original post to see the difference

... K&N drop in filter installed
... clear corners installed
... the headlights had some sort of residue on them that wouldnt come off from washing, so I used turtle wax "liquid claybar" and worked like a charm

Posted Image

... cleaned up the exhaust tips
... debadged "G35" from right side of trunk lid

it seats 4 it has rear buckets.... its basically an extended wheelbase Z... I know the G35 is 112inches and IIRC the Z is 104... i think its 3-4 inches wider too if im not mistaken

yes I do haha... should be interesting... this car has VDC though (vehicle dynamic control) so it shouldnt be too bad. It cuts back power to the wheels when it detects slipping, brakes individual wheels as needed, and sends more power to either side as needed.

it will still be a huge transition though... I will be back up at school, where i really dont drive too much anyway

f700... its identical to the f90 and f900 but you just cant play dvds on this one... i couldnt justify another $200 for DVD capabilities since you can watch videos through iPod and SDcard... I'll probably never even use video anyway haha

but yes... its going in tomorrow I cant friggen wait... I installed the new firmware on it and did the navigation bypass already :D
