Ive got an 07 SS that i bought 2 1/2 years ago(in tennessee). Before it was placed on the showroom floor.. the dealership installed that P.O.S. Clifford Security System. Whether or not its the issue or not, im not sure. About a year after having the vehicle I started having issues. The car will only turn over about 70% of the time. I took it in to the dealership(since its covered) and they were "unable to detect a problem".. bout a month later i took it back in for the oil change. They discovered that the battery had been leaking an ate up the cables n terminals. Which they then claimed was the problem for my car not starting. About a month later the issue started again. I took it back in just recently(now in texas), and they now claim that my "aftermarket system" causes my car not to start. Removed the system fully and returned it to stock (Which a 4gauge power wire to the pos. terminal should have absolutely nothing to do with it). Still having starting issues.
Now, im not sure if the clifford is playing the role in the vehicle not turning over or if its something internally. Any of you who are familiar with the Clifford know that u have to put that lil magnet deal to the terminal to turn the thing off. Once that is done u should be able to fire up no problem. Right??!?!?
U also know if u leave it on n try to fire what the outcome is. It wont turn. But everything in the vehicle comes on.
Ok.. so heres the problem.. disable the clifford... put the key in.. roll the tumbler.. n it jus clicks.. I have power to everything.. but u have to roll the tumbler back n fourth a good 5-10 times before the car will actually turn over. The vehicle also has a remote start. And if u use that, u get the same issue... even if the clifford is on or off.. Remote start only works about 70% of the time as well.. my assumption is its something to do with the Clifford.. but any other advice or direction would be great..
Thanks,

that's going to be a sh*tty one to track down. i'd get the battery charged and load tested and then have the starter tested. that can rule those out of the equation then. after that you would be looking at vats systems, security systems, key problems, tumbler issues, park nuetral safety switch, etc, etc...
good luck. wiring is not fun stuff.

Seems like its something with the key or ignition switch.
I would just keep taking back to the dealership.
If they cant figure it out, have them give you a new car.

I have an 07 SS too. Doesn't it come with a perfectly fine security system from the factory? I can't see why anyone would do that to a car like that.
