but you could swap yours... if you follow the lever down to the steering column, there is a pin that holds it in... use some needlenose pliers to pull it out, and then the shifter will pop right out

the parts themselves for the linkages cost me I think $40-50 shipped from a member on here, and came with the grand prix shifter with the leather boot.... I already had a console i picked up from ebay, I cant remember for the life of me how much that was though... i bought that before I even had the car lol

you dont HAVE to... some people who have done it changed the steering column too, but i didnt bother... the only thing, if you leave it, the piece that rotates on the column with your current shifter will still be there

I bought a Z34 parts car that has floor shift gunna use the parts from that for the conversion, including the steering column, gauges ect. This way it won't be such a pain in the arse to pull the dash panel off should I need to get at the the controls behind it.

honestly I dont remember... i didnt do it all in 1 shot (thanks to rain)
my guess would be about 2.5-3 hours ... it wasnt difficult but tedious... remember I didnt change the steering column either
the hardest part for me was disconnecting the shift cable from the column shifter... alot of force had to be applied in a very tight space (thats what she said)
other than that it wasnt bad... disconnecting/connecting the cables to the transmission itself was annoying because my hands are ginormous, but again, wasnt difficult

When I got the white Lumina, it was so gross I actually picked the gunk off with a putty knife, then cleaned it. So far, that one and my other 2 column shift cars have no sticky issues.
Hey bronx...more pics of the dash/cluster. How did you do that with the trim rings around the gauges?
