I started building my new sub box this afternoon knowing I had to drive two hours one way to pick up my daughter from Grandma's house so I would not get much done today.

I started with a new sheet of 3/4" MDF.

Then made a few cuts and assembled some walls.

Got a few more cuts done and found out I made a miscalculation on my measurements and had to redo a couple cuts. I got back to work and got a little more done.

Now I have to cut a couple more boards and get some carpet and some decent speaker wire. More pics as I get more done.

I am having problems with my computer so I will try to post pics with my phone.
I got the box built and I need to buy carpet and build my amp racks.

I am using Elemental Designs 10" subs.

Thanks, it is 2 cubic feet and tuned to 30hz. I hope my new amp is enough power for these subs. I will be running an Alpine mrp-m1000 amp.

Lots of port area, nice! Tuning is a little low for a daily driver but hopefully it works out for you. My last box was tuned to 30 too and it fell off dramatically at about 44Hz, which is in the range where most songs bass is. My next box I'll be building here shortly will be tuned to at least 36Hz

Yeah they don't play super strong down low but they have more than enough punch up high. I guess if the subs don't sell I will build another box and redo my trunk again. I think its time for a little fiberglass work.

Nicely done. I was thinking about building a box myself but I picked up a brand new one from a friend for cheaper than it would have cost in supplies

I'm going to be building a new box pretty soon, getting kind of anxious actually. I'm gonna use 5 ply baltic birch and the box is gonna be 3.5 cubes and tuned to about 32-35Hz, depending on my mood when I design it :)
