wanted to check interest in a Stainless braided hose that is a direct replacement for the stocker. thinking of actually replacing the nipple and hose. the stock DOHC hose get saturated with oil and becomes mushy causing the brakes to be mushy and lose brake boost. I used to make them back in the day and wanted to see if there was any interest for them anymore, whos running a stock hose?

I'm interested. My cars needed it replaced for a long time, and I'm going to get it fixed when I take it out of storage in a few months. How much do you plan on charging?

Depending on the cost of parts and assymboly in thinking ~$60 shipped. It will be SS braided and have like a metal nipple that replaces the stock nipple.

How did oil get in your brake booster line? To date never seen any thing in the line.

My first booster hose failure had oil in it somehow also but I never figured out where it came from. The second hose has never had oil in it but I wouldn't mind putting on a new hose with a stiffer ID.
But before I get into that I need to investigate why I went from an intake seal seep to pissing coolant all over the place and an ominous friggin' rattle sumnabeeach!...

I don't think the problem is getting oil IN, just it gets saturated and doesn't do its job right.

when the PCV wears out it blows a little oil into the intake manifold and then gets sucked up in the BB hose. then the hose (not desinged for oil) gets squishy and when you brake it collapses and you lose vac to the brake booster... Not an issue with the '96-97 because the booster hose hooks to the intake arm before the PCV. the 1991-95 DOHC's the hose connects to the back of the intake manifold after the PCV. if you ever go to a junk yard and see a '91-5 DOHC reach behind the upper intake (in the center) and feel the hose, most likely will be like jello! i couldnt believe it the 1st time is discovered this..
