What realistic gains can I expect if I were to use a FFP underdrive pulley?

1995 Z34- cosmetic stuff, sound system, F&R STB's.

I WAS JUST WONDERING THE SAME THING!!!! Weird.... anywho, I second this motion. This seems to be pretty popular among GA owners and they've done some group buys so maybe we can get in on that. I don't think it's a significant gain but from what I've read it does provide noticeable gains. As long as it isn't harmful to any of the other accessories I'm all for it. I have read elsewhere that SRT-4 owners have had problems but they could be unrelated to the underdrive pulley. Has anyone had experience with this on the 3.4 DOHC?

I'm assuming this is an underdrive crank pulley?

Regardless, any underdrive pulley should give you horsepower gains - but I wouldn't expect more than 5 extra horses, if even that many.

yes. Underdrive crank pulley. thanks. How much of an effect would I see in things such as my A/C? Would this affect stereo performance?

and nick, I'm pretty sure FFP doesn't make them anymore for the DOHC. In fact, I don't think FFP even exists anymore, or at least I can't find a website.

I couldn't find it either, that could have been an old thread. I guess I didn't pay attention to that. Are you lookin for an underdrive pulley for your Monte or what? Where did you find one for the DOHC? Or didn't you find one

thanks haha. I got a few things ahead of this too, I was just seeing if it was worth the price. And I'm pretty sure that chip wouldn't work in a 95?

I wouldn't think so, I got a different pcm so chips like that are a thing of the past for me. I'm gonna buy a tuner so I can do it all myself, with input from others. If you get that underdrive pulley before me or happen to talk to someone with an underdrive pulley on their DOHC let me know cuz I'm really curious how much improvement there will be. If I find a good priced one soon I'm just gonna buy it and find out

Will do.

If anyone knows how much it would affect the A/C and stereo among other things, feel free to chime in.

Since it's on topic, I contacted MRZ Performance to see how much it will cost to have them make a UDP for the 3.4 dohc since they made some for the 3100 and 3400 GA owners. They charged the GA guys like $100-110 I think so I would assume it would be approximately the same. I'm waiting for them to return my call but I'm going to e-mail and stuff too since I could barely understand the girl on the answering machine. If anyone is interested in a UDP please let me know, they told the GA guys to gather atleast 10 people that wanted one and they would make them. I'm also going to contact other places as well in an attempt to find the best price

I have a FFP UDP (one of the 1st built actually, Michael from FFP lives about 2hours away from me), yes they are no longer around. when i installed mine it seem to rev up a little faster. With my system (3 amps, 2 subs) the dash lights seem to be a tad dimmer at idle along with headlights, once you start driving again the Alt spins at its normal speed and the power output goes back up. so you will most likely only see any dimming lights at idle other then that no problems.
