My 21 yr old son, Kevin, has a 2003 Mustang GT. He gets stuck with all this snow we are having, while my '99 Monte Carlo w/230000 miles goes like a snowmobile.
I suggested he put my old stock wheels with BFG tires on his Mustang. We swapped out the rear tires on his car, and he took it out..................needless to say, he didn't get stuck once!!
My only concession was he had to leave the center caps (with the Bow Tie) on the wheels.

Yea.....built Ford tuff....but with CHEVY stuff!

Rwd sucks in the snow anyway, but if you know how to drive it it's fine. I used to have a blast with my 98 GT in the snow, it was lowered about 1.5" inches and I had Kumho summer tires on with aftermaket 18's. I never got stuck with that car, I also have yet to get stuck in the Monte. The Monte definately goes through WAY more snow then my Mustang could though

Guess I just thought people were buying bullit style, but of course, bronx had non-bullit mustang wheels, just never thought about it

The mustang bolt pattern is 114.3x5 vs the 115x5 of the montes. It fits on there great you just gotta deal with the offset/backspacing. Some need spacers and some dont. I think monte wheels going onto a mustang would work without spacers no matter what.

check the nut on the rack and see if it's wet down there. That's where they like to leak.

The wheels fit just fine without any spacers, just had to file the center hole lip on the wheels a wee bit. Kevin is getting a kick from the people giving him strange looks when they see the Bow Tie emblems on the wheels!

I personally wouldn't put 5x114.3 on my car. It's not common, but it's not unheard of that bolt pattern causing studs to snap.

Never heard of that happening have been running 114.3 wheel since June and I've taken hard corners.

I have seen someone who ran 077's and their studs were thinned out, but they weren't sure if it was from the wheels or just rust.

The 114.3 bolt pattern is close enough that your studs are still floating in the holes on the wheel. The lug nuts are still seated within the holes, its not like the studs are right up against the edge of the holes and rub on them. Think about it, the difference is only 7/10s of a millimeter. That is an incredibly small difference.
