And those construction signs that display "your speed" flash 99 if you are going 100 or faster. They don't cycle through and make it look like you are going 25 if you are going 125.

That's good to know Heavy. I'll start shopping for some.

Also, I would like to confirm what other people have speculated and that is that the digital speedometers do indeed display triple digit speeds. I just wanted to make sure of that for when I go to the drag strip next ;)

Lol, my moms caddy has the digital display, it goes triple digits, haha.

I know for sure that my old '88 Beretta GT does exactly 132mph according to the Digital Dash when she tops out....

Well, I went to ZZP’s dyno today and had some interesting results.

I installed the L67 injectors right before I went onto the dyno as well as the Autolite 103’s just to make sure that the Monte was ready. Well, we put it onto the dyno hooked everything up and tested it out a little bit and were ready to make a pull. I have it on video but I can’t upload it right now (will do later). The dyno pull had to be cut short, it was only revved up to 5500rpms when they had to stop the pull. This was kinda disappointing to me because I could tell it had more to go through. I looked over at the computer and it read: 325whp.

Here’s a little data:

The pull started out good, with the afr at around 11.3:1 but by the time it hit 5500rpm it was 14:1, which is why the ended the dyno pull early. We added a fuel pressure gauge to check out what was going on and it was at around 60psi at it’s max but a little after 5000 rpm the pressure just starts to die off. We were only able to get the one dyno pull. I talked to them after and they were saying that there is enough in this set up for about 360whp, and if I installed an intercooler I would be looking at 400+whp.

Now, I need a new fuel pump and 42# injectors. It looks like I have to wait until summer to go to the drag strip, but expect some good times when I do ;)

Also, Dave I talked to them at ZZP about the pulley, they said that they got the pulley from Napa. I’ll try to get more info about the pulley for you soon.

Ah, if only I could pull my injectors and put my L67 ones back in to sell you my 42's!

You really should put an IC on your car then, haha.

Oh and FYI, pretty much anything over 300whp will kill your trans in about a years time, so...yeah...

Good numbers though man! If they keep the AFR down in the 11's though, don't be expecting much more than 325whp, unless they keep it in the 13's AFR. If they richen it up to 11's again, it will kill a good amount of power, but it will be a good amount safer.

I have no doubt that this set is going to go past 325whp because I made that at 5500rpm running lean and still with 1000 more rpm to go, while the hp was doing nothing but going straight up. This is putting down some good numbers I think. I forgot to mention it was on 13* of timing when it made 325. And yeah, it's a stock fuel pump so I'm going to do some shopping and see what I can find. Also, if anyone has some 42# injectors let me know, I'm shopping for those now :)

Very nice Zipper. That sucks about your fueling though. We ran into the same problem with my car...but your car is a lot faster than mine. Those are some good numbers.

Yeah, I was actually shocked when I saw the numbers. It's a complete night and day difference from NA 222whp to CSC 325whp and to know that there's more available, I can't wait. I'm pretty sure that with the fuel pump I'm going to need a GTP canister as well, but otherwise I should be all set. We'll see what happens.

Zipper, don't you have a '98 Z34? Get a PRJ/Racetronix pump, it drops right in.

Don't know if the fuel pump setup is the same on all the 5th gens- but the regular 255 walbro dropped literally right in place of my stock pump on my 96.

98-99 Z34's Use a Venturi style pump like the GTPs. You need a venturi specific pump or else you will have the 1/4tank starvation issues and fuel pressure bleed off after key off, which can cause hard starts without priming the pump. 99+ Fbodies use the same venturi syle pump.

Here's where I got mine for $119.99 + Shipping. Who ever you decide to order through make sure the fuel pump has the brass fitting for the venturi line.

It is like the 5th one down. The link heavy posted should work, seeing as how he said it was a straight drop in, but who knows. I know mine worked, haha.

Thanks guys for the links. It looks like they want you to do a rewire for the fuel pump when you install it. Did you guys do that or just drop the pump in and you were all set?

The rewire will just provide a better power source for the fuel pump. Larger gauge wire has less resistance and with higher voltage the pump can pump more fuel and faster. But we're talking about a one or maybe a two volt drop. This is the kind of thing that will make the pump support 500hp or with the rewire 600hp. I was told by Buck back in the day that the GTP rewire isn't the same as the 98-99 Z34/LTZ as he tried to use one. I just dropped the venturi specific pump in both the MC and the TA and they've worked fine.

I just dropped in the pump. Like I said, the PRJ pump, with 42# injectors, at 6200-6300ish RPM's, my IPW's are just hitting 14, so fueling is not anywhere near a problem.

Jacko! Long time no see! I really really REALLY want to go to 131 this year. I'm having a couple issues with moving and everything but if all works out my Monte will be somewhat track ready this summer.
