I have a 03 SS and I get this code . Where is the vent solenoid? I looked above the cannister but only see 2 plugs on cannister. Is it way above the cannister on the drivers side well well?
My car won't pass inspection here in Rhode Island. Can't afford to have dealer fix as I just went back to work after 1 year of unemployment.

I appreciate any help.

P0440 could be many things with your whole EVAP system. Do you have access to clearing the code? Try to take off the gas cap and then put it back on tightly, then clear the code and see if that helps. If that doesn't help inspect the whole system all the lines for a tear or something that could cause it to function poorly.

Other than that, you probably are going to have to start checking sensors or the purge valve

You really should have it smoke tested so you aren't wasting money, but from what I see a large leak is usually either a gas cap or a vent valve on w bodies.

To find the vent valve follow the filler neck up to the fender. It is inside the rear quarter panel.
