So after washing my car yesterday I took a few quick pics and then realized how sh*tty my car is right now and wondered if you guys got any of the same rust problems

Posted Image
Paint flaked off corner by wheel when i was washing it a few months ago
Rims are oxidizing under clear coat... Need to sandblast and paint them
Huge dent (entire door) that i already somewhat pounded out is from a kid backing into me at school

Posted Image
Paint just flaked off the side skirts and door corners & it started rusting
Big dent is from idk. someone/something in Madison

Posted Image
Rear bumper is like grey not black? dam

Guess this is what happens after 11 years
Good thing it's getting painted soon

eh id say my car has just as much rust... but ive done things to prevent it. And dent wise, i dont have any huge dents. Sometime you'll have to look straight down the side of my car, it looks like someone through baseballs at it. But from other angles its not noticeable what so ever. haha.

Your car thinks it's a 4x4

You should really explain that it's not so it stops the deterioration process

I can see this as typical damage to an 11 year old vehicle if you deal with the nasty winters and salt/ snow, unless you have another daily driver, it is impossible to get around, and can be expected. tony, do you plan on getting the entire car repainted or just the bumpers??

I like the top stripe idea but the lower one not so much. And as far as rust I have a whole in my car that i could stick a childs hand through and mine is a 96 with only 76k on the clock. Its just that some people dont give two sh*ts about thier car and we happen to buy them

my car is 11 years old, couple dents, hail dents on the hood, and the only rust is just behind the rear wheel directly above the plastic...i'd say it's not to bad for it's age.

Mine is showing it's age too sadly. I don't have nearly the amount of dents that you do but I now have rust on the front fenders which is really annoying me. I'm looking at fixing that soon though so I can't wait. Good luck with the paint. If you must have stripes, the top ones look better then the bottom ones.

I kinda like having both sets and also it'll be one of a kind, I think

If you wash that back bumper, and put a real nice thick wax on it, let it sit for a while, and buff it out, it should get a nice shine to it again. Mine looks that bad on its worst day, wash it and buff it and it shines real nice.

I would expect that of a 11 year old car. Mine is 13 and due to it be a daily driven car with harsh winters and a LOT of salt being put down, my car has taken a beating. It's a shame really is which is why it wouldn't hurt to get it fixed if you plan to keep it for a while more or sell it.
