But if it's your daily driver, how attached will you be when the repair bills start piling up? Closing in on 200k miles, the car is going to start having more and more problems.

KBB private party in 'good' condition is $5620, or $4970 for 'fair' condition. I wouldn't call it a really good price unless it was in excellent condition, but its definitely not a bad price either.

The bad thing about that is, the rest of the car is still going to have 200k on it- the transmission, suspension, braking systems, etc etc- the repair bills will add up quick.

Whats wrong with a GP? Its virtually the same thing he has now, just newer with less miles.

when something breaks you replace it, we do all our own work so we only have to pay for the parts, every vehicle we have owned had near or over 300k miles on it, my car has new paint also and not a bit of rust.... its just getting broke in

Doesn't matter to me what you do, you asked for our opinions- and if I could get a good deal on a newer car with much less mileage- that I knew was well taken care of, I would personally jump on it. If you have so much sentimental value in your car that you could never stand to get rid of it (and you can't have both)- then it looks like you don't have a choice, but you also know that with that comes a lot more repair work and money.
I can't say I blame you- I am that way about my monte also, but it also isn't my daily driver, and I'm not having to depend on it to get me to work every day- so the mileage racks up much slower, as do the repair costs.

Personally, 92K is a bit too high for me to buy a vehicle, but that's just me.
