First off I think we need an exhaust section...... To the point, I put in a new cat cuz I thought the stocker was clogged (it wasn't). Anyway, this new one gave my sweet sounding exhaust a new disgusting high pitched rasp that only comes in at a certain rpm that I happen to hit ALL the time. I had the silencer and resonator taken out when I had the new tips put on and I want to put a glasspack back in to get rid of that high pitch rasp. Where is the best place to put it at where it doesn't change the sound of the exhaust but still gets rid of just that one raspy tone that I get between like 2600-3000 rpms? Or doesn't it matter? I don't want to put it by the right rear tire where the stock one was to avoid it rusting out faster but I'd rather have it in the best place possible (even if it happens to be by the right rear tire).

This happened to me when I replaced my factory mufflers with cheap napa ones...I get that nasty rasp in that range too, but only when it's cold...
1995 Z34- cosmetic stuff, sound system, F&R STB's.

I get it whether the car is warmed up or not, it just lasts longer when it's cold cuz it takes longer to shift

Mine is located on the passanger side next to the fuel tank just before the "Y".... As is the borla resonator. seems to do the trick very well.

I kinda figured that was a good spot since the factory one was there, but GM doesn't always do things that make sense
