I haven't been around here in a while, but figured I'd just check in. It's interesting to see how we've changed to yet another BB system here...I think I've seen all of them since I signed up, with the exception of the original Yahoo forums.

So, yeah, I finally had to sell my '06 Monte. Some of you may remember I was having some problems with it, but that's not why I ended up selling it. I had gotten most of the issues sorted out, but the alignment never did quite get set correctly by the dealership and I was tired of dealing with those morons. I moved into Baltimore late last year after suffering through suburban life for long enough, and in my new place I've only got street parking. I didn't really want to bring the car up into the city, since I've only got street parking and everyone in the mid-Atlantic region is a total moron driver (sorry mid-Atlantic guys, it's true). For months I was playing a really fun game of, "Hey, can I park my car at your place for a few weeks?" It spent it's last few months with me basically collecting bird sh*t at a friend's second house.

It was advertised for what seems like forever, but after lowering the price to $10,500, I ended up selling it to a nice guy from District Heights. I think he'll take pretty good care of her. It only had 42K miles when I sold it, and it was basically in mint condition...I do miss it, but I just wasn't driving the car and it didn't make sense to just let it sit around rusting.

I'm driving my '99 Cherokee for now, and into the foreseeable future. I'd been looking around at some other cars, thinking I'd replace both cars with one newer one, but I still love the Jeep. I looked at the Jeep SRT-8, but the mileage and insurance payments are absolutely killer, and test drove an Equinox, which was...boring...and slow...and thought about a GMC Canyon, but at the end of the day didn't like anything enough to justify spending the cash on something else.

Also, out of sick curiosity, I e-mailed the guy I sold my '97 to. He's had it for almost three years now, and says it's still running well, and that he's only had to do basic maintenance. He gave it to his daughter, who took it out to Phoenix. He didn't say the mileage, but I sold it with 194K, so I'm guessing it's got around 250K now. I'm glad to hear it's still on the road. I miss that car ALOT more than I miss the '06, and I'm still sorry I sold it. I told him if he/her ever gets tired of it, to let me know and I'd buy it back from him, but he didn't get back to me. Probably thought I was a nut, which is true.

Welcome back man, sorry to hear that you don't have the Monte anymore - but you do have a point, if you don't drive it why have it? I hope your Cherokee has held up better than my bro's '94... The hinge on the door is broken, it makes a weird clunking sound while driving... A nightmare.

Good to hear from you. I said the same thing to the people who bought my car... as they were about to leave. haha... who cares if they think we're nuts. But... as much as I love the 98, I'd do it again.

Welcome back, nice to get an update.

We didn't switch systems since you last left however we did upgrade from v2.5 to v3.0 of our software. As usual, major releases tend to look quite different than the ones before.

We are all insane for our montes man, thats why we are here, good to know your girl is still rolling happily!
