Most people start off with a 3.5 setup which could include a 3" downpipe, 180* tstat, AL104s, intake and a tune.
From there you can swap the downpipe out for a set of headers and/or get a set of 1.9 modded rockers. With headers and rockers you should be good to run a 3.4 pulley.

Where do you live? I'm in Ohio if you want a tune.
zzperformance.com has everything you need, you just need to know what to buy when and why. We really need a price range to recommend things to you. If money doesn't matter then go right to headers/xpz cam, or forget s/c altogether and go turbo.

PRJ is in Indiana IIRC, not sure how far of a drive that is but he knows his stuff and can tune you. prjperformance.com is his site.
As for parts, do you want a downpipe (120ish) or go right to headers (350ish)? Headers will have a bigger gain, more potential, and you won't have to upgrade later like you would a downpipe.
Here's a prepared package from zzp if you just want a downpipe. It has basically all the parts you'll need to run a 3.5 pulley safely. The intake you could make yourself for a lot cheaper if you wanted to. If you want to go straight to headers then I wouldn't order this package, but you can use it as a list for all the other parts you'll need.

and here's the downpipe by itself

you'll want to choose the 3" bolt in from the dropdown menu. If you want stainless or a catalytic converter it will be extra.
Its really not hard to install yourself, just 4 bolts, but a shop would probably charge an hour of labor.
