Changing Timing Kit Rate Topic: -----

how much work is it to change a whole timing kit (gears,chain,tensioner) on a 2002 ls monte 3.4L

Why are you chaning it? I've never seen a timing setup fail on that motor.

the tensoner isnt keeping the chain tight smacking all around

How do you know this is the case? How many miles are on it? I've never seen a stock timing set fail on a 3400. I have however seen a camshaft break on a high mileage motor lol.

129k miles you can hear it slaping the cover not sure ifd its the cam i hope not how
could i check for sure with out taken it apart because its one im looking to buy but they said it was the tensioner that wasbad but id replace it all while i was in thereaq
