Sooo, somebody has to ask... are you pressing the latch after you pop the hood 
Anything different since the last time you opened it? Get any front end damage that could have bent the latch? Does the hood pop at all? If not the cable could have snapped.

You can jack the front up clime under and reach up and unlatch it the hard way.

make sure the cable hasnt snapped.

beat me to it, but i was gonna ask if he pulled the lever in the car. by bet is on a broken cable
