Well it's been awhile but if anyone can help me, it will be here.I have a 95 Dohc and last October the head gasket went,so I also replaced the timing belt, power steering lines cause they were leaking and a new rad.Now my problem is as soon as the car hits operating temp it just shuts down.I was told it might be the {Icm }so I changed that and still no luck.Sometimes when I just let it idle in the driveway till it gets to operating temp and put it in gear it stall's out,try and restart and it hardly wants to turn over and wont start up.After it sits for awhile and cools down it will start up,then when it gets hot again it shuts off. After it gets hot and for some reason if it is still running as soon as I shut it off, I have to wait until it cools down again.....You get the picture.Any ideas are welcomed with open arms. Thanks in advance.

Any SES lights on?

Sounds like some sort of sensor to do with the air intake. Mine did the same thing when the MAF sensor went out.

The shop I took my car to had trouble getting mine to throw a SES code.

In this case me6894, unplugging the the MAF sensor. Would that do any harm?

Good idea. Unplug the maf and start the car and see if it still dies when it gets to operating temp.

Will it restart if you unplug the maf? If not, what isn't it getting, spark fuel or air?

Ok so I went out and started the car, unplugged the maf and shortly after that the rpm started to drop, The car started to chug and it stalled.Never tried to start the car with the maf unplugged after it reaches operating temp.I will try that right now.As for spark, fuel or air not too sure all I can tell you is it turns over and that;s it and if I keep trying it drains my battery.

So I let the car heat up and put it in gear, stalled out, unplugged the maf and tried to restart it still no luck. When I say operating temp,my guage is right in the middle between 40&125 degrees, maybe that is already to hot?

If you don't know what's missing you're shooting in the dark. Next time it stalls and won't restart, use a spark tester to check for spark. If spark is good at a few plug wires, check fuel pressure. If pressure is good, use a noid light to see if the driver is firing the injectors.

This is a shot in the dark unplug the line to the fuel reg turn the key to the on pos and she if fuel dumps out of the vac port. When the reg goes bad and dumps gas in to the engine via vac line it can do this like that aslo its a b**ch to fugure out.

Yesterday I decided to do some more reading and came across a article saying if your head gasket goes it's also a good time to change your t-stat.So I replaced that and it helped with the heating issue, but I still was having the issue, after the car warms up and I shut it off then try and restart it, hard to turn over and no start.Today after work I decided to take it to the shop and see what they had to say about it,they put the car on the scanner and it said something to do with my [IAC] not working properly, hopefully that should take care of my stalling issue. Then after the car hit operating temp they shut it off and had the same problem, hard to crank over and no start. Next they put the car on the battery testing machine and tried to start it and realized that the starter was dropping the volts to just over 8.0 volts. They told me my starter was drawing to much off the battery because when they tested it at cold start it was dropping to 9.2 volts and that's still not very good, so I guess I will change the starter this weekend and see what happens.I will give you an update this weekend.
