The 3100's bore is 89mm (3.5") and stroke is 84mm (3.3").
The 3400' bore is 92mm (3.6") and stroke is 84mm (3.3").

yea that was a dumb question by myself 3.4 to 3.1 duhhh 3mm bigger bore my bad but i understand the dohc deal that was also my bad i should have been more clear
so if i can find a 3.4 dohc for like 300 bucks i think im going to swap to it then when i move in june get a 3.8 sc and build it over time
one more question i cant see boring my 3.1 to a 3.4 and gain 20 hp out of it is that about the hp gain youll get

Injectors don't make a 3400 a 3100 magically however the 3100 stock injectors are rated lower than 3400 injectors. 3100 injectors work just fine on the 3400, you will see more power with that setup however to unlock what the 3400 really has you will need 3400 injectors and a tune to match.

Agreed most definately. It's not worth the trouble and the DOHC doesn't have much to offer verus a 3800. Just swap in a 3800 and go from there, until then just stick with the motor you got a save yer money
