Hello,
I have a 97 Monte LS 3.1. It stalled while making a left turn, started right up again and after going into a store for a few minutes, it started back up, stalled and the gas guage went to full.
I replaced the fuel pump assembly and starter. The car has spark, turns over but, the fuel pump will not turn on. I replaced every fuse in the car, tried new grounds from the old fuel pump harness,
and the pump will not turn on when I turn the key on. The car had an after market remote start/alarm in it. I took it out, reconnected all the wires that were sliced into the remote, and the car still won't start???
When the remote/alarm were in the car, the security light on the dash was constantly on. Now that the remote is out, the light is off when i turn the key on.
The other problem is, when I hooked up a code reader, it will not send a signal to it. What is the problem or problems? Where do I begin so I can get it running again???
I would appreciate your help on this one as I need my car.

Did you check/replace the fuel pump relay in the engine bay fuse box?

No, I didn't. I am now thinking that when I had the remote start/alarm installed, I tried to start the car with it after the fuel pump was replaced.
I am wondering IF it bypassed or locked the GM security and it's causing it not to start??? When the remote/alarm was in the car, the security light was constantly on on the dash. The dealer that i took it to to have it inspected told me that, whom ever installed the unit bypassed the GM security, and that the unit needed to be removed but, I left it in and just removed the buld from the dash.

Yes I did and still no start. I am thinking that the GM security shut off the fuel pump, is that possible, and how do I reset the security or bypass it?

Where should I post my problem? I am not very good with forums, etc,. So I would appreciate any help with my post and problems.
