As some of you know I picked up an 06 SS about 3 weeks ago. So my question is, whats out there for these things? Ive looked through the threads and havent seen too much of anything. Ive read that ls6 top end parts will bolt up but then ive also heard of it causing issues with the DOD. Mabey im just not looking hard enough but I just cant seem to find anything. Im in no rush to buy anything I just want to know what my options are so I can start planning. Any ideas or leads will help. Thanks!

Wheel horsepower, well over 300 at the crank.

That does seem low for a car that supposedly has 303 at the crank stock. That time is a low 13 easy on street tires and a high 12 on some DRs.

I think that was without rockers. I will ask when I see him again. Now I am a little confused on what he told me lol.

As you mentioned, the regular LSx intakes will work with customization- but I think just about every one has been done (except maybe a FAST).

Also, you can use regular LSx heads and cams too (although your stock heads aren't really your restriction point).

There are a lot of mods out there, but it seems like there are still too few people with the spare money to put real time and effort into modding them. Its too bad ZZP hasn't done a Z3 kit for them- obviously a turbo can make a lot of power on the LS4- but it would be nice to have something other than a $6000 option to do it; especially since you almost need a built trans right away with almost 500 whp.

Stock should only be about 240 whp- so that's a 30 whp gain from a CAI, rockers, a catless DP, and a tune- I don't think it sounds that bad.
