Here we go I have been doing some thinking. The early 90s Lumina Z34s with the LQ1 have standard 5speed transmissions, and are technically w-body cars, so if its possible with lots of time and money to put that transmission in a 96 Monte z34. lets get some feedback on this im going to do some research.

Oh man I hope so. Been dieing to swap my Lumina over to a 5 speed. Keep me in the loop man. FYI 99 9c3 car .

hmm, other than wiring, and being obd-1, and cutting a new hole in the floor, it seems like it could work. the only issue i foresee is that everyone with the l67 and half a brain will want one, and idk enough about that tranny to know if it can take that.

One person has successfully done this. Kuntzie put a 5-speed getrag 284 i believe into a gp

This does look plausable thanks for the feedback just got back from work i'm defenatly going to look into this once I get a 2nd car and get that new LQ1 I may consider doing this. sorry attempting this lol

Oh but it may, I really am contemplating it. I'm getting a second car for winter and putting away the monte, be the perfect time to make my attempt. its all getting money for it.
