I'm bad at research someone find me a turbo kit lol. no but really if anyone knows of one out there. I mean ive seen people turbo these and put them in fieros and sh*t so is there a kit or is it universal. and what about the manifolds do they need to be custom. probably..
I have a new motor coming and I want to put it on steroids before i put it in.

Btw this is probably the worst title for a thread I have ever seen, try making titles that have to do with the subject so its easier for others to search for.

Yes, I might just start locking threads that have useless titles.

How is this funny?

First of all it would have taken you 2 seconds to post a relevant title.

It's my and the other mods responsibility to read EVERY post, so unfortunately I had to click on this thread to have any idea what it was.

End of story. If you don't post a halfway decent title in a technical section I will lock your thread.

its what me6894 said then his reaction, i thought that was funny, but you guys are right, after the two seconds of making a relevant title, he could have taken a whole ten seconds to google "turbo kit for lq1"

Actually I didn't change the title, I don't know how or if I can lol.

Plus, if you have to ask about a turbo "kit" for your lq1 I will bet $50 it will never happen.

I'll be honest and say that I don't think anyone makes a turbo kit for a 3400. Most people with the 3400 when they want performance rip it and put an L67.
If you really want it tho here's a list of all custom parts you'll need to do on a grand am forum.

well for starters, here's a brief overall list of parts you'll need to buy/make/have someone make:

correctly sized turbo
boost gauge
oil drain/feed lines with fittings/flanges
BOV
wastegate (if the turbo isn't internally wastegated)
intercooler
intercooler piping
silicone couplers and clamps
custom made downpipe
custom made exhaust manifolds/crossover
exhaust/turbo flanges
wideband O2 sensor (not completely necessary but highly suggested)
powrtuner or hptuner (and the knowledge to use it)
larger fuel injectors
battery relocation kit
other random fitting, vacuum hoses, exhaust wrap, etc

If you really want it, go for it, maybe do the manual transmission swap and the same time and you'd have one amazing car,
but I also quote what was at the bottom of this same post of all the parts...
"basically, don't go boosted unless you really know what you're in for and what you're doing."

good point nifty, but you never know, i thought we had another 3.4 turbo on here?

and, if hes building another 3.4, why not turbo it while its out? but, to be honest youre probably right, most people lose interest half way in if they dont know what theyre doing

its all a matter of money if I had the money I would spend it on doing this its a plan in the back of my head for now I do have the new engine coming soon so ill have to think of small cheap things to give alittle bit more out of it. and you honestly think i didn't try googleing it all i get is the same question I'm asking. I asked here because I figured someone might have seen it donem, I know some fiero swap guys turbo LQ1's. But unless you fab stuff Idk where their finding the parts

Thats exactly it. They are fabing the manifold and pretty much everything else they do. There is no kit, you need to source all the parts (turbo, ic, injectors) and fab the rest (turbo manifold, oil lines, piping, custom tune, ect). Unless you have someone who has experience building custom turbo applications or you can do it yourself, money isnt the only thing holding you back there. Thats why 99.9% of the people who ask about it never do it. They think they can just bolt stuff on over the weekend and have a turbo car. Its not that simple. It requires alot of work and alot of downtime for the car.

*Cough* *cough* TimG also has this exact setup.
once my turbo headers are finished i will be selling the original stuff as a "KIT". it will be X-over and manifolds... its a good DIY setup. you will need another '96-'97 manifold for the rear and it should bolt up. I can even flash your '96 ECU to the turbo tune

my current lq1 turbo setup:
- 2 stock log manifolds
- T04E "60"
- Custom X-over
- Custom Downpipe
- OBDII swap/tune
