i have a question as i have recently added 20 inch rims to my 95 ls that i have had for the last 12 years. after about 20 miles of putting the rims on the tranny started to make a grinding noise. Iis there a upgraded tranny i can swap to that will match up with my 3100 that runs fine (96000 miles) or should i do a complete swap of engine and tranny from another car to help move the wheels along better?

Any transmission you put in there is going to hate big heavy wheels. Just get another transmission and it should last a while unless you peel off from every stop sign.

Chris,

Agreed. Then again, with a 3100 and 20's, I doubt he'll be doing much peeling out.
