What Are You Guys Opinion On The Dex-Cool

My father owned the car before me and when he had the radiator F/F the mechanic put the green in. The sticker under the hood says dex-cool, When I got the car, alot of overheating, flushed and added orange dex-cool and there is sludge all through my ride, not to mention that it has brought on my hot light. If i'm at a light, I throw it in P/N and turn the heat on and rev it and she shoots right down again but it's constant. Has anyone had this issue with the sludge? Is it from the dex-cool or what? Thanks for your replies.

The sludge does accumulate from Dexcool but mixing green and orange together will cause the antifreeze to turn into mud. I had a little buildup with the dexcool but I flushed the system when I did the water pump. I dont have the same buildup tho I could use another flush as there is still a little goop floating around.

they recomend dex cool for a reason, but ethier will work fine, but NEVER mix them together, and if lf you switch, flush the whole system really good

Dexcool is fine, you just need to flush it more often than the 5 years 100k GM suggests. I do it about every other year.
If you did put Dex in, without flushing out ALLL of the green, it will be sluggy.
You could just do a proper flush, fill a few times with plain water and run it, drain it, etc. and put the Dex back in.

check the nut on the rack and see if it's wet down there. That's where they like to leak.
