Hi, I am new to the site, even though I have been following it for the last few weeks. I just recently bought a 95 Monte Carlo 3100, and I've done some work to it. But I really want to put new sway bors on it, but I cant seem to find any... Oh and my tranny is sticking when it changes from first to second. Mind you, I haven't flushed her yet, but Im going to very soon. Any ideas what could be wrong? Would the flush be worth it? Oh yea, it isnt pink anymore, its a really nasty blackish brown color.

P.S. please don't snap at me, This is my first car, and I love it and I really want to make it last. I know a little about cars but not much. So take it easy on me please. and thank you!! =]

Really nasty brown color could mean that the transmission is already shot. Flushing it could move all the particles sticking together that makes it work and can make it fail even faster.

Don't flush it, just drop the pan and refill the fluid

It's like 7 quarts or so

Phew, glad i asked you guys before I did it. I'll be doing that this weekend if the weather permits. (Hopefully tropical storms dont get too close. >.<) Would I be better off getting a new transmission?

And anything on sway bars?

Thank you. Glad to be apart of it. =]

I don't think anyone makes aftermarket sway bars for these cars

Your best bet is to drop the pan, drain the fluid, change the filter, change the fluid. Then if that doesn't help any, a new tranny is probably the way to go

And yes, you can put Z34 exhaust on your car. Just need the hangers and it will bolt right up

Ok, I got the new filter and fluid. Going to do that tomorrow after work or sunday morning.

Alright, stock sway bars will have to do then. lol

Will I have to do any welding with the z34 exhaust?

Ran into another problem... Im tryin to change my window motor and the bolt holding it in arent screws or anything a normal tool can take out... Idk what they are called but i cant take them out. Do you know what I'm talking about or how to take them out? I need my window I'm drenched in sweat every where I go.

Once again, I thank you guys so much for helping me and being so patient. I want to do all the repairs and upgrades myself so I can say i worked on a car and know my way around it. lol =]

probably a TORX bit. they're the star-looking ones.
for the exhaust, you may have to change the flange on the downpipe. the z34's and 3100 flanges r different...but if u want a "custom" dual exhaust setup, get the z34 duals, change to whatever mufflers u want, and Wham bam, Thank you, ma'am!! custom exhaust on the cheap.

Its not the torx, its round. I'll take a picture and show you guys.
I might do that. My local car junk yard sells exhaust piping 1.99 per foot so I might just do that next pay day.

its not a rivet is it? I know rivets hold the motor to the track. You have to CAREFULLY drill them out and replace them OR you can slide the motor out one side at a time if you remove the crimps at the end of the track.

For sway bars, you can find a z34 in a yard and pull the sway bars and all the mounts. They will be beefier than the stock LS bars. For the exhaust, all the hangers should be the same, you will just need to find the hangers for the drivers side muffler. I dont know if the metal part of the hanger is there on an LS. You may need the metal part and definately the rubber part of the hanger for the DS muffler. Worse case scenario the flange that bolts the catback to the DP will be different. In that case you will need to cut the flange off a Z34 downpipe and weld it to your LS downpipe. The flange may be the same tho, not sure.
