The only way I know of changing it is to send it off to get recalibrated.

i used a 555 timer circuit to add 92k miles to mine over 8 er 9 days... i just bench powered it and simulated the VSS signal, 4000 pulse per mile

you will need:

  • 555 timer chip
  • 1K Ohm resistor
  • 100K Ohm potentiometer
  • 5K Ohm potentiometer
  • 1 ufd capacitor
somewhere like radio shack should have all of this

you only need to power the digital part of the cluster, 12V

power your circut with 5V and hook the output to the VSS in on the speedo module

Attached File(s)

get a 5.1V zener diode, and another 1K ohm resistor

lol.... i dont know if its suposed to be 5 or not... but most digital circuits use 5 volts, so thats what i used, 12 may work, but since 5 works i wouldnt risk it
