This question has been asked a few time lately so I figured I'd post the instructions I found on the web. I followed them myself and everything went fine.

The DOHC angelfire sites are a terrible resource. The one that talks about the engine, how it came to be, and its performance is so totally wrong it isn't even funny. I wouldn't doubt that one being wrong as well, though after reading through it, it sounded pretty accurate otherwise.

I have to run .060" because of the MSD other then that never heard of .060" for a normal 3.4 dohc set up.

Cannot find these gaskets for this job....

* GM Gasket 24504025 (intake to plenum)
* GM Gasket 24504034 (egr valve to plenum)

Anyone have any clue where to find them?

The GM dealer? Or any autoparts store will have a Fel-Pro/ROL equivalent.

And the 95 DOHC has a .060 gap vs. the 96-67 w/a .045 gap...at least as per the underhood GM decal.

yeah my 96 says .06 under the hood for my 3.4L DOHC LQ1 factory they come with platnums. im switching to iridiums which have an even smaller tip so i think .06 should be good. but not sure.

I put my car at .045. I bought new plugs for my car, and the car said .060 for the gapp! All the manuals i have read, say .045. So i tried .060 first, the car ran nice...then i regapped them to .045, not only did the run much better, it ran smoother and had lots more power! i get better gas mileage too. So i stuck with the .045, which is in the car manual, and haynes manual! i would put it at .045, and if you want to, you can try what i tried to prove it!

3.4 calls for .60 on a sticker under the hood and in the haynes manual. BUT the GM 1996 WBody 2 Volume shop manual calls for .45 for optimum performance. I went with .45 and haven't had any problems, I will stick with what the GM bible says

The haynes manual is junk dont buy it. For the same price you can get the shop manual off ebay from on of the car dealers that closed up for under 20$ in be year spacific. Like you wouldnt think there were lots of changes 96-97 but there are so many its crazy.

I have a 96 z34 3.4 engine that i just did a tune up on yesterday and the under hood decal has .060" gap on it. so thats what i used and it came out great. My advise to you is go by your under hood decal as long as you still have da original engine or go by da year of ur engine. HOPE IT HELPS

The .060 gap is incorrect for the 96-97 LQ1. The underhood decal says that but the owners manual says it should be .045. I gapped my plugs at .060 when I first changed them and my car wouldnt even run. When I gapped them at .045 the car ran fine. I believe the .060 on the emissions sticker under the hood may be a typo. I bet if you re-gapped your plugs to .045 your car would run much better.
